The Bible is the Word of God which was given by inspiration to men by the Holy Spirit to write down. None of the prophecy is from any private interpretation - prophecy never came by the will of man. The Bible is Truth. Men are not to change (add to or take away) the Word of God.
2 Tim. (NKJV) "16All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Pet. 1 (NKJV) "20knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."
1 Thess. 2 (NKJV) "13For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe."
Col. 3 (NKJV) "16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
Psa. 119 (NKJV) "160The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever."
John 10 (NKJV) "35...the Scripture cannot be broken,
John 17 (NKJV) "17Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth."
1 Pet. 4 (NKJV) "21If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God."
Jude 1 (NKJV) "3contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."
Titus 1 (NKJV) "2in hope of eternal life which God‚ who cannot lie‚ promised before time began..."
Ecc. 12 (NKJV) "13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments‚ For this is man’s all.
Matt. 7 (NKJV) "13Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it."
Heb. 1 (NKJV) "1God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;"
1 Cor. 3 (NKJV) "3For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ."
John 1 (NKJV) "1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God... 14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 12 (NKJV) "44Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me... 48He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day."
Rom. (NKJV) "23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Rom. 5 (NKJV) "8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Matt. 11 (NKJV) "28But Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
If I love God, must I obey Him in order to be saved?
Am I saved by
Or rather by saving (working) faith?
Is baptism a work? If so, is baptism a work of man ~or~ a work of God?
faith (belief) a work? According to the Bible, Faith is a work of God just like baptism is.
When on earth, Jesus did the Will of His Father in Heaven (obeyed Him) to the point
of being crucified for the sins of mankind. Yet, not all of mankind will be saved because Jesus died for them. We see that not all the Jews
who had Jesus crucified were saved. We read in Acts 2 that those
where were saved, only those who repented and were baptized for the remission of their sins were saved and added to the church by our Lord.
A person who "just believes"
is doing something in a similar manner that the person who is baptized is doing something. However, the
person who "just believes" does not obey God
by doing ALL that He says to do in order to be saved. A person who says the
"Sinner's Prayer" is doing something just
like a person who is baptized is doing something, only baptism is commanded by God and the Sinner's Prayer is not.
Notice that there are those who think that they know God and are doing many wonderful works in His Name, but He
will say to them at the judgment, "I never knew you". He also says that they were practicing lawlessness (sin).
That is because they did not obey God.
it possible to be a
and not be saved? The Bible records that the demons
believe, but they are not saved.
Can I be saved by "works alone"? No, God saves a man through his faith which causes him to obey God by doing the works
that God prepared for him to do. Therefore, man cannot boast before God because those who are saved will do the work of God and not his own work,
nor any of the works of men concerning salvation.
The Bible tells us that faith (belief) towards God is the same as obedience to Him.
Does God have a law today or are Christians "lawless"?
Is the Doctrine of Christ important?
Is it OK to just believe what the preacher says or take on the religion of our parents and/or friends without studying the Bible ourselves? We see that in the first century that those who were of more noble character searched the
Scriptures to make sure that the Apostle Paul was teaching the Truth.
Is it possible to know The Truth?
What will happen if I am outside Christ at my death?
Remember that belief (saving faith) means to obedience to God.
