Share The Bible The Bible is the Word of God which was given by inspiration to men by the Holy Spirit to write down.  None of the prophecy is from any private interpretation - prophecy never came by the will of man. The Bible is Truth. Men are not to change (add to or take away) the Word of God.

Bible 2 Tim. (NKJV) "16All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Bible 2 Pet. 1 (NKJV) "20knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."

Bible 1 Thess. 2 (NKJV) "13For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe."

Bible Col. 3 (NKJV) "16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

Bible Psa. 119 (NKJV) "160The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever."

Bible John 10 (NKJV) "35...the Scripture cannot be broken,

Bible John 17 (NKJV) "17Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth."

Bible 1 Pet. 4 (NKJV) "21If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God."

Bible Jude 1 (NKJV) "3contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."

Bible Titus 1 (NKJV) "2in hope of eternal life which God‚ who cannot lie‚ promised before time began..."

Bible Ecc. 12 (NKJV) "13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments‚ For this is man’s all.

Bible Matt. 7 (NKJV) "13Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it."

Bible Heb. 1 (NKJV) "1God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;"

Bible 1 Cor. 3 (NKJV) "3For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

Bible John 1 (NKJV) "1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God... 14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

Bible John 12 (NKJV) "44Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me... 48He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day."

Rom. (NKJV) "23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Blood of Christ - The Cost of Forgiveness

Rom. 5 (NKJV) "8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

~How Do I Obey The Gospel?

Share The Bible If I love God, must I obey Him in order to be saved?

Bible John 14 (NKJV) "23Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me."

Share The Bible Am I saved by faith alone? Or rather by saving (working) faith?

Bible James 2 (NKJV) "14What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

Bible Heb. 11 (NKJV) "1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God... 4By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain... 8By faith Abraham obeyed... 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed... 17By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac... 24By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter..."

Bible 2 Thess. 1 (NKJV) "7when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power..."

Share The Bible Must I, through faith, obey God or can I do what I want (my own will, rather than God's Will) and still be saved? Why not faith alone? Is baptism necessary for salvation?

Bible Rom. 6 (NKJV) "3Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

Bible Acts 2 (NKJV) "38Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Bible John 3 (NKJV) "3Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”... 5Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.."

Bible 1 Pet. 3 (NKJV) "21There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,"

Bible Mark 16 (NKJV) "15And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

Share The Bible Is baptism a work? If so, is baptism a work of man ~or~ a work of God?

Bible Col. 1 (NKJV) "1In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were 12raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead."

Share The Bible Is faith (belief) a work? According to the Bible, Faith is a work of God just like baptism is.

Bible John 6 (NKJV) "29Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

Share The Bible When on earth, Jesus did the Will of His Father in Heaven (obeyed Him) to the point of being crucified for the sins of mankind. Yet, not all of mankind will be saved because Jesus died for them. We see that not all the Jews who had Jesus crucified were saved. We read in Acts 2 that those where were saved, only those who repented and were baptized for the remission of their sins were saved and added to the church by our Lord.

Bible Matt. 26 (NKJV) "39He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will."

Bible Acts 2 (NKJV) "22Men of Israel... 23Him... you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death... This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses... 36“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” 37Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” 38Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Share The Bible Does saying the Sinner's Prayer, which is not found in the Bible, save me?

Share The Bible A person who "just believes" (faith alone) is doing something in a similar manner that the person who is baptized is doing something. However, the person who "just believes" does not obey God by doing ALL that He says to do in order to be saved. A person who says the "Sinner's Prayer" is doing something just like a person who is baptized is doing something, only baptism is commanded by God and the Sinner's Prayer is not. Notice that there are those who think that they know God and are doing many wonderful works in His Name, but He will say to them at the judgment, "I never knew you". He also says that they were practicing lawlessness (sin). That is because they did not obey God.

Bible Matt. 7 (NKJV) "22Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’"

Bible 1 John 3 (NKJV) "4Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness."

Bible John 14 (NKJV) "23Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me."

Share The Bible Is it possible to be a "believer" and not be saved? The Bible records that the demons believe, but they are not saved.

Bible James 2 (NKJV) "19You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!"

Bible John 8 (NKJV) "44You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it."

Share The Bible Can I be saved by "works alone"? No, God saves a man through his faith which causes him to obey God by doing the works that God prepared for him to do. Therefore, man cannot boast before God because those who are saved will do the work of God and not his own work, nor any of the works of men concerning salvation.

Bible Rom. 3(NKJV) "37Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith."

Bible Rom. 4 (NKJV) "2For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God."

Bible Eph. 2 (NKJV) "8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

Share The Bible The Bible tells us that faith (belief) towards God is the same as obedience to Him.

Bible Heb. 3 (NKJV) "18And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief."

Bible Heb. 4 (NKJV) "6Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience...11Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience."

Bible Rom. 16 (NKJV) "26but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—"

Bible Eph. 5 (NKJV) "6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience."

Share The Bible Does God have a law today or are Christians "lawless"?

Bible Gal. 6 (NKJV) "2Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Bible 1 John 3 (NKJV) "4Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness."

Share The Bible Is the Doctrine of Christ important? Is it OK to just believe what the preacher says or take on the religion of our parents and/or friends without studying the Bible ourselves? We see that in the first century that those who were of more noble character searched the Scriptures to make sure that the Apostle Paul was teaching the Truth.

Bible Acts 17 (NIV) "11Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true."

Bible 1 John 4 (NKJV) "1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."

Share The Bible What will happen if I am outside Christ at my death? Remember that belief (saving faith) means to obedience to God.

Bible Heb. 9 (NKJV) "27And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment."

Bible 2 Cor. 5 (NKJV) "10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

Bible John 3 (NKJV) "36He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

Bible Rom. 2 (NKJV) "4Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? 5But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6who “will render to each one according to his deeds."
